Birth Story – precipitous birth.

My waters broke and the contractions started red hot, as they did with my first baby. 1 hour and 40 minutes later she arrived earth side – precipitous labour. She was delivered OP or ‘face to pubes’ which was a huge surprise to everyone.

Getting her out was challenging to say the least, I have never had to put more effort into anything else in my life. When it was over, I was exhausted. It took me a long time to find the energy to open my eyes and look at her, as I needed a moment. The birth pause. When I did see her for the first time it was like we’d known each other forever.

Women’s bodies instinctively know what to do and babies know how to be born.
