Previous birth trauma – Wodonga.

On the 18th of November, 2019 I gave birth to my baby boy Kaelan – weighing in at a healthy 9.19 pounds.

After a previous traumatic birth experience with my daughter, I decided that I wanted to hire a doula to assist my hubby in supporting me throughout my labour.

Have you ever met a person that you immediately felt completely comfortable with? From day one Louise was incredible.
We started chatting online before I met with her in person and by the time I met her face to face I felt like I was speaking to an old friend. She was caring, humourous and very relaxing and grounding to be around. She genuinely cared about what I wanted to get out of my birthing experience and facilitated my needs perfectly.

Louise saw to it that my birthing room was beautifully set up with a birth pool, dim lighting, candles, music, oils and everything else I could think of to make the experience more comfortable.
While my second delivery did not end up going 100% according to plan and was physically a bit rough, I feel psychologically positive about it because of the incredible support I received throughout.

Lou – I don’t think you even realised just how much you helped me, just by being there, bantering with my hubby and I between contractions, getting anything that I needed, making sure that I was ok with every intervention as it came up and advocating my rights with the hospital staff. Beyond that, when things got tough, purely just holding my hand and telling me I was strong and doing an amazing job kept me going. I don’t think I could’ve done it without you.

Lou, I’d hire you to be my doula 100 x over in a heartbeat and will wholeheartedly recommend you to any other birthing Mama’s out there. You rock! Thank you for helping me bring my little boy safely into the world, it was an honour having you there.

Love Sarah X
