Hospital VBAC.

This birth was everything I needed.
I’m so proud of myself — for declining routine hospital policies that didn’t align with me, advocating for myself even in the depths of labour and for trusting my body every step of the way. I never once second-guessed myself.
Doula Lou’s belief in me gave me the courage to stand my ground.
Apparently, the OB was planning to come in and give me a stern talking-to about my choices… but luckily I was either already pushing — or too naked to be lectured. Missed their moment!
And my partner? He was everything I needed him to be. Supportive, present and hands-off in the best way. He trusted me completely. He even said how relieved he felt when Doula Lou arrived — like the pressure lifted and he could just be there without needing to “fix” anything.
And honestly… when I think about the snacks Doula Lou brought for me, I want to cry. I was so grateful.
This hospital VBAC wasn’t just a birth. It was Healing, Empowering and Mine.
